About Institution

SJM Institute of technology (SJMIT) was established in the academic year 1980-81, with blessings of then president of SJM Vidyapeetha Sri Mallikarjuna Murugharajendra Mahaswamiji. Located just adjacent to the National Highway-4, SJMIT has a clean green campus with all facilities spread over a vast area of 35 acres.

The college is recognized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) New Delhi, approved by Govt. of Karnataka and affiliated to Visveswariah Technological University (VTU) Belgaum. We are one of the recognized and authorized institutes to transfer the technology and courses offered by the joint collaboration of VTU Belgaum and C-DAC (Center for the development of Advanced computing) Government of India.

SJMIT provides undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Civil Engineering. Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Automobile Engineering and Postgraduate courses in Computer Science & Engineering.

The institute is reinforced with experienced, highly qualified and dedicated faculty in all braches, labs, computer center and Library for the academic development of the students. Other facilities like boys hostel, separate girls Hostel, Play grounds, indoor games, gymnasium, reading rooms, canteen and other student requirements/amenities also exist in the campus. In summary, our campus is a clean, green, healthy, secured, disciplined boundary, best suited for a student to explore his/her higher education.
