The college is situated within 5 Kms. of Mysore Railway Station. Sarada Vilas Law College is the second oldest college established in the year 1954, next only to the Bangalore Law. It is one of the ten colleges established by the Parent Organization: Sarada Vilas Educational Institutions (SVEI).Sarada Vilas Law College is a Co-educational College affiliated to the Karnataka State Law University navanagar, Hubli. It was started by Prof. Sampige Venkatapathaiah, an educationist, freedom fighter and an advocate with himself as the first principal of the college. Since then the college has contributed for the development of legal education and rendered valuable services to the students in shaping their destinies. Sarada Vilas Law College is known for quality and excellence in legal educationIn 1954 we started the legal education under the patronage of the erstwhile Rulers of Mysore. To begin with the college had F.L. and B.L. courses, which later on was converted into 3 years degree course. The Karnataka State Government extended granting aid to the college in the year 1988. Ours is the only law college getting grants from State Government in Mysore City.
