Sendhwa is a city and a municipality in Barwani district in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. It is well known for its huge cotton production and cotton mandi. Sendhwa is also famous for its sites of historical interest, notably a black stone fort dating from the 16th century which has four main entrances, marking the four points of the compass. At the South door there is a temple complex, and therefore this is considered to be the main entrance. Another point of interest in the area is Bijasan Tekri, which is 15 km from Sendhwa and located at the border of Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. Some of the Important Monumentaries like Rajrajeshwar and Gaytri Temples located inside the Sendhwa fort. Sendhwa is the biggest revenue generating tehsil of the Barwani District and crucial in the regulation of law and order in the district. Sendhwa has the highest population in Barwani district. Sendhwa is one of the biggest Industrial Area present in the region.Acknowledging this, Government of Madhya Pradesh entitles the City with "LAXMINAGAR" and even it i called as The City of White Gold
