WELCOME to the Silda Chandra Sekhar College website. It has been desired to provide you about the essential information of the College and all the particulars regarding B. A., B.Sc, BCA courses.
Silda Chandrasekhar College was established on 9th November 1971. It is located in the tribal and bucolic vicinity of the western region of Paschim Medinipur district. The college is situated nearly 30 km away from Jhargram, sub-divisional headquarter. The college started its journey with few arts subjects. In the voyage of 42 years, there was a steady advance in academic pursuits with the introduction of the Honours Course in various subjects. The college is affiliated by Vidyasagar University and recognised by the University Grants Commission under section 2(f) and 12(B). The college is now endowed with learning resources in the form of sufficient number of text books, reference books, journals and magazines in the library. The college has a spacious seminar room, a multi-gym and a large play ground to help the students’ strive for all round development. A new class room building and office building with modern facilities is under construction within the campus. The teaching staffs are heartfelt in their approach to the students. Non-teaching staffs are also attentive to the needs of the students and sympathetic to their problems. Despite resource paucity we are confident of exploring all available avenues of mobilising resources to improve infrastructural facilities needed for better functioning of the institution. We are confident that we will go ahead and trounce all kinds of hindrance that may come in our way.
