Shiva College of Education is the first college of education in Distt. Bilaspur pursuing the quaity and excellence in Higher Education.

Shiva College of Education came into existance by progressive efforts of Shiva Educational Society. The college is recogized by NCTE Jaipur (Regd.) approved by H.P. Govt. and affiliated to H.P. University Shimla. The college is running its third academic session for the year 2009-10.

Shiva College of Education is located on NH-88 (Shimla-Dharamshala) at the entry to Ghumarwin town near D.A.V. School. It is easily approachabe from most of the places by bus. It is just 10 minutes walk from bus stand to college. There is regular bus service to the places of importance like mandi, Kangra, Una, Bilaspur, Shimla, Hamirpur and Chandigarh.

Vision

To achieve distinction and engage in educational pioneering so that the college will contribute to the establishment of a knowledge society and become the ?center of expertise? at the regional and national levels, attaining a position among top national colleges of education.

Mission

The mission of the college is to prepare professional educators who will contribute to build a knowledge society and who are able to compete globally. It will be achieved through improving the college?s programs and units by establishing high ?functioning learning community. Moreover , the College will seek to response the diverse needs of the society , the problems of educational field, and the challenges to comprehensive development through presenting initiative for educational reform, and employing knowledge , research, and development in the way possible in light of the values and needs of the society and according to the academic accreditation criteria .
