About Institution

Kurundwad, previously a small ‘princely state’, is situated on the banks of Krishna and Panchgnga rivers in the north-east of Kolhapur district. Due to floods and lock of roads, this area was not properly likned with cities. Kurundwad remained aloof from higher educatin in those days. The people mainly depended upon agriculture. facility of higher education did not exist till 1972. On 15th June 1972 Navbharat Shikshan Mandal, Sangli started its college at Kurundwad as Shri. Datta College, Kurundwad. Shri Datta College was abruptly closed by the management in 1985 due to internal disputes. It created an abnormal situation in the process of higher education.

To promote Higher Education for the rural students and particularly for female students and to generate a sense of self-respect, equality and self development amongst them.
To promote Higher Education for the students coming from Minority Communities.
To create awareness among the rural youth, about social issues to inculcate discipline among them.
To aim at character building and personality development of the rural students through curricular and extra-curricular activities.To provide qualitative and value-based service in the field of education to the rural communities.
To create the work-culture and dignity of labour amongst the students through NSS and Sports activities.To create awareness about development approach and to remove the traditional attitudes of the community through extension activities of the college.
