The low productivity and lower income is primarily because of lack of proper education and especially health education.Address the serious needs of rural India, a doyen of co-operative movement, Hon’ble Late Shri. Bhausaheb Thorat, along with other fellow colleagues laid the keel of Sau. Mathurabai Bhausaheb Thorat Sevabhavi Trust in the year of 1982, which is serving the society with the following facilities and infrastructure.Sangamner is tribal and hilly area Dental problems are quite common in this area of Maharashtra. Use of mishri (tobacco powder) for cleaning teeth chewing of tobacco, beetle-nut, paan etc. are very common habits in the rural people.In present days Gutkha has reached to higher classes and to the students also, smoking of biddies and cigarettes is also very much common in the society, hence diseases related to dental problems of oral cavity are major health problems in both urban and rural area societies. After considering all oral health problems from which the rural people suffers, Sau. Mathurabai Bhausaheb Thorat Sevabhavi Trust decided to start dental college in this area. Accordingly proposal was submitted to various authorities for necessary clearances. We are very thankful and grateful to all those who have considered above all facts and accorded permission to our SMBT Dental College.
