Smt A. R. Patil Kanya Mahavidyalaya is one of the prestigious colleges of higher learning, being run by well known Sanstha, Shri Swami Vivekanand Shikshan Sanstha, Kolhapur. The Santha has been extending its services in the field of education both at the State & National Level
The college has been established on 16th Jully 1984 to the doorstep of the rural women & industrial town, Ichalkaranji. The college is named after late Smt. Akkatai Ramgonda Patil. Today the college has two faculties :- Arts & Commerce with the total strength of 927 for degree Courses & 432 student for +2 level
To start a college for women was a dream of santha founder Shikshan Maharshi Dr. Bapuji Salunkhe. The vision of our founder is to take education to the doorsteps in & around Maharashtra. The lamp lit by him has lit thousands of lamps. With the help of local organization, leaders, donars, well-wishers, Municipal Council & citizens, Now our college has been 30 years old.
During the last 27 Years however, there has been a welcoming change in the philosophy of the college. It has created a distinct place of pride in the minds of the people of Ichalkangji known as the Manchester of Maharashtra.
The college is affiliated to Shivaji University, Kolhapur (Maharashtra). It is grant-in-aid college. It has been accredited at B Level in 2003-2004. and Reaccredited at B Level in 2011-2012.
The Mission statement of our santha is With this mission statement our college is committed to high ideals in teaching, learning & research activities. The spread of Education must be for Knowledge, Science and Moral impressions. Through this motto we have blend of accumulation knowledge & its application for wellbeing of humanity. The college respects the motto & has been trying to realize it through task at the best.
