SREE MUTHUKUMARASWAMY COLLEGE was started in 1997-1998 with a view of providing higher education for the childeren of the economically backward areas of North Madras. A couple of schools were being run by this management and starting of the college was one more step. The main inspiration for the starting of the college came from Dr. P. Balasubramaniam.
The college has grown from strength to strength & has on its roll 900. The institution is Co-educational though women students account for 60% of the strength. This college imparts job oriented courses without losing sight of value based needs of the society.
The college has produced always above 90% results, an achievement of no mean proportion given the standard of the students entering the college. We owe it to the band of dedicated Lecturers who are able to mould the students both academically & socially.
