About Institution

Sri Kanyaka Parameswari Devasthanam and Charities, founded in 1720 by the Arya Vysya Community, render service to the society. They have four schools, two each for girls and boys in Chennai. They have two hostels one for students from Std VII onwards, providing free food and accommodation and the other for two hundred students taking up professional courses. This organization has also undertaken the feeding of 100 School Boys, poor and infirm, throughout the year. The Charities have also two Kalyana Mandapams, a cremation ground and ceremonial garden.
The Management Committee of the Sri Kanyaka Parameswari Devasthanam & Charities have founded the Sri Kanyaka Parameswari Arts & Science College for Women to promote women's education in Chennai.
