Sri Lathangi Vidhya Mandir Matric Higher Secondary School managed by Kalaimagal Ramasamy Gounder Pechiammal Trust, had its humble beginning in the year 1997 to serve the cause of education to the students in and around Pollachi. The inauguration of the school was a simple, formal function with Mr.K. R. R. Ramesh Raaj Kumar, Secretary of the school, introducing the new school to the public as the institution aiming to impart education for the all-round development of the child. It aims at giving the students the conducive environment to grow and imbibe the values of Lathangian Culture. Soon the school came to be recognized for its harmonious blending of the traditional environment with the progressive methods of education. Activity oriented developmentally appropriate curricular based education has been the striking feature of the school. Naturally the institution imparts holistic and quality education.
The school started with 100 students from Play Class to I Std. Classes grew every year steadily with an addition of one higher class and in the year 2008 the school reached its full fledged status of a Higher Secondary School, now educating nearly 1800 students from Play Class to Std XII. The school is affiliated to the Matriculation Board of education recognized by The Government of Tamilnadu. The medium of instruction is English.
Lathangi believes that education is a continuous journey to promote value and broad based, holistic education with principles of imbibing knowledge, integrity and perseverance, kindling the self esteem, moulding the total personality and bringing out the innate talents to make stupendous pillars of the Nation and to lead a positive, successful ethical and tranquil life in the universe.
