30  சுற்றத்திற்கு அழகு சூழ இருத்தல்

எந்த நிலையிலும் கூடி இருத்தலே சுற்றத்திற்கு அழகு.

Beauty of the relatives is to be around, in times of need

31  சூதும் வாதும் வேதனை செய்யும்

விளக்கம்
சூதாட்டமும், தேவையில்லாத விவாதமும் துன்பத்தையே தரும்

Soodhum vaadhum vethanai seiyum

English Translation
Gambling and arguments can only bring distress

32  செய்தவம் மறந்தால் கைதவம் மாளும்

விளக்கம்
தவம் செய்வதை விட்டு விட்டால் அறியாமை (கைதவம்) ஆட்கொண்டு விடும்

Seidhavam marandhal kaiththavam aalum

English Translation
Forgetting past skills will cause present endavours to fail.

33  சேமம் புகினும் யாமத்து உறங்கு

விளக்கம்
காவல் வேலைக்கு சென்றாலும் நள்ளிரவில் உறங்க வேண்டும்

Semam puginum yaamaththu uranku

English Translation
Even a watchmen should sleep for a short while

34  சை ஒத்து இருந்தால் ஐயம் இட்டு உண்

விளக்கம்
பொருள் கொடுக்குமளவு இருந்தால், பிறருக்கு உணவிட்டு உண்ண வேண்டும்

Sai oththu irundhal iyam ittu unn

If you can afford, first feed the hungry then yourself

35  சொக்கர் என்பவர் அத்தம் பெறுவர்

பொருளுள்ளவர், மீதமுள்ள அறம், இன்பம், வீட்டை பெறுவர்.

Those who are wealthy, will fulfill their needs

36  சோம்பர் என்பவர் தேம்பித் திரிவர்

சோம்பெறிகள் வறுமையில் வாடித் திரிவர்

Soombar enbavar thembith thirivar

Those who are lazy will wallow in misery.
