Due to huge dearth of Physiotherapy Professionals in India particularly in Northern province, D.A.V. College Managing Committe, with the permission of Govt. of Haryana and Indian Association of Physiotherapists committed itself to add new professionals to faculty of allied Medical System in the branch of Physiotherapy who would strive hard to achieve excellence in restoring patients functions through qualitative and quantitative approaches and started Thakardevi Takanram D.A.V Institute of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, a pioneer physiotherapy institution in State of Haryana to run 41/2 yrs. duration Bachelor of Physiotherapy (B.Ph.T) degree course with intake of 40 students in the batch w.e.f. 1997-98 session.
The institute was inaugurated by the Honorable Chief Minister of Haryana Sh. Choudhary Bansi Lal Ji on 25-10-1997. With real commitment, in ensuing years, the institute is set to reach milestones in the field of Physiotherapy to unveil the myth and mystery involved in the application of Physiotherapeutic procedures by encouraging the integration of Physiotherapeutic skill with an understanding of research based biological foundation enabling the application of problem oriented approach to therapy.
The degree course in physiotherapy aims at imparting in-depth theoretical and practical knowledge in the science of Physiotherapeutic so to train the physiotherapists to practice the profession in a competent manner towards the patients with autonomy, quality care assurance and maintaining the humanitarian approach of service with referral, as well as first contact client in conformity with ethical code for physiotherapists.
Graduates of our institution are working in various responsible positions in the field of Rehabilitation.
