Decades back, a mother was carrying her young child to work. On their way the child came across some sick people. The sight of poor people struggling due to ill health and poorer healthcare disturbed them both. On that day, a burning desire was born in the child?s mind that when he grows up, he has to do something for the poor. Out of that desire, a vision was born to establish a hospital for his village. That one man?s vision and commitment has today created a world class hospital in Madurai, Velammal Medical College Hospital & Research Institute.Two years back Velammal Group made its foray into healthcare, and within this short span Velammal Medical College Hospital with its state-of-the-art infrastructure, expert medical team and paramedical staff have contributed substantially to the growth of healthy community in Madurai & southern districts.
