Vidya Prasarak Mandal was formed in the year 1957. It was started with the sole aim of providing quality education to the Kannada linguistic minority living in Mumbai. The pillars and the pioneers behind this tall aim were dedicated and committed to forge ahead. Owing to the sincere hard work, the school gain popularity, there was a public demand to start the English medium school, and thus the Mandal started providing education in English medium also. There are now 13 different institutions run by the Mandal. VPM is an unique institution that caters to the weaker section of the society. VPM is a non-governmental, non profit making trust which has been creating a niche in the society which is supported by beneficence and resourcefulness of local people, and the affluent community of people who have provided monetary support.
