Young Horizons School, founded in 1972, was initiated into the educational arena with the blessings of eminent personalities including Mother Teresa and Father Bruylants S.J.
The humble beginnings (the school initially operated from modest rented premises in Central Kolkata) were made with the primary objective of serving children from different sections of society. A new branch was inaugurated on 8th March, 2002, by the Governor of West Bengal, Shri Viren Shah, at Kalikapur – Singhabari, E. M. Bypass, with classes commencing from 26th June, 2002.
The school is affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi, with the first batch of students appearing for the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education examination in 1998.
At Young Horizons, children experience the joy of learning, sharing, and growing up, to become socially conscientious citizens. We believe in providing holistic education which addresses the intellectual, physical, emotional, and spiritual development of the child; and in creating opportunities for every child to develop to his or her full potential in a happy stress-free environment. The school continually incorporates elements from contemporary educational paradigms while retaining an Indian ethos.
Young Horizons School is committed to strong ethical moorings, a reputation for quality, efficiency and a commitment to perpetual renewal.
