Dr. Edward F. Knipling was an American entomologist. Dr. Knipling was born on March 20, 1909, in Victoria, Texas. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1930 with a bachelor's degree in entomology. He also received a master's in entomology from Texas A&M and a doctorate in entomology from Iowa State University. In 1996, he received a honorary doctorate from Texas A&M. He received The National Medal of Science awarded by President Johnson in 1966. Dr. Knipling died on March 17, 2000, in Arlington, Virginia.
