Tulsidas Borkar is an Indian musician, known for playing harmonium solo and his syle of accompanying in Hindustani rag sangeet and allied forms . He was born on 18 November 1934 in Mumbai, India. He took his initial lessons from his mother Jaishree Bai Borkar and then he learnt other techniques under the guidance of Vishnupant Vashta, Chhota Gandharva. He further mastered in harmonium under the priceless guidance of Shri. Madhukar Pednekar, Pandit S.C.R.Bhatt, Pandit K.G.Ginde, Pandit Rajaram Shukla, Pandit Murli Manohar Shukla, Pandit Ram Marathe, Pandit Devendra Murdeshwar and Pandit A.P.Pathak etc.
Pandit Tulsidas excellently plays his roles both as a soloist and an accompanist. He first gained fame as an Organ Player and as an accompanist. He learned the intricacies of Indian Classical Music by associating with some of famous artist such as Pt. S.C.R. Bhatt, Pt. K.G. Ginde and Pt. Devendra Murdeshwar. he is an internationally acclaimed soloist and has provided us with many famous compositions. Tulsidas Ji has performed in various cultural festivals not only in India but also in some other parts of the world like U.S., Europe, U.K., Indonesia, and the Gulf Countries etc. Being a Music director he has given music for some of the theatrical productions like Sangeet Pandharpur, Bakul Phula etc. He has been honoured with various awards for his mesmerizing performances which include Govindrao Tembe Sangeetkar Puraskar and Keshavrao Date Puraskar. In 2016, he received the Padma Shri Award.
