The Uttar Pradesh government is contemplating a tie-up with ‘Super 30’, a Patna-based coaching institute, to help meritorious students studying in government schools crack the tough IIT entrance examination.
“Talks are in final stage with ‘Super 30’ to assist meritorious students studying in government schools in Uttar Pradesh so that they can crack IIT entrance examination,” a State government official said here.
For selection of students for ‘Super 30’, the education department has proposed conducting examinations at 11 centers, including Lucknow, Allahabad, Gorakhpur, Bareilly, Jhansi, Kanpur, Agra, Moradabad and Azamgarh, he said.
Founder of ‘Super 30’ Anand Kumar has proposed “teachers training programme” for teachers of government schools for their skill development so that they could impart best education to students to crack competitive examinations.‘Super 30’ will not take any honorarium from the state government for the purpose, the official said.
The move was initiated by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav in January last year when some underprivileged meritorious boys from the State secured admission in IITs and they conveyed the hardships that they endured to him.
