About Laura Flessel-Colovic

  • Laura Flessel-Colovic is one of France's great fencers. Dubbed La guêpe (The wasp), due to her unique way of attacking her opponents' feet, she is a double Olympic champion, six-time world champion, one-time European champion, with many other team titles to her name.
  • Laura is currently the French athlete to have won the most medals at the Olympic Games (5 medals). Having qualified for her fifth and final Olympic Games in London, she was France's flag-bearer during the opening and closing ceremonies.
  • Laura is also a politically active woman with strong values. In 2009, she notably won, the Marcel Rudloff Prize for Tolerance.
