Prachi Tehlan born on 2 October 1989 at Nangli Sakrawati village in Delhi, is an Indian netball and basketball player. She was captain of the Indian Netball Team in the 2010 Commonwealth Games and in other major Asian Championships in 2010-11. Under her captaincy, the Indian team won its first medal under in 2011 South Asian Beach Games. She has been titled as “Queen of Court” by The Times of India & “Lass of The Rings” by The Indian Express. She was the brand ambassador for Netball Development Trust- India for 2011-2013. She supports Indian Collegiate Athletic Program (ICAP) and has agreed to be a mentor for the program.
Career:
Prachi Tehlan has an MBA in human relations from Indraprastha University, New Delhi. She graduated from Jesus & Mary College, University of Delhi. She has worked on various projects with the Development Bank of Singapore, Deloitte, Accenture and 1800Sports.in. Currently she has been working as Consultant at Accenture. She is contributing to a project named UDAAN - Skills to Succeed for Mobilization, Training and Employment of youths from Jammu and Kashmir under National Skill Development Council, Delhi
Education:
She started her schooling from Montfort School, New Delhi. She graduated in B.Com (Hons.) from Jesus and Mary College, University of Delhi and completing her PG Diploma in Marketing Management from IMT, Ghaziabad. She enrolled in Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology, GGSIP University, New Delhi where she completed her Post Graduation in MBA (HR and Marketing).
Sports:
She started her sports career from Basketball at National level from School. She got selected to attend the Indian Camp thrice in 2004, in Cuttack, Orissa.
Recognition:
India won its first international medal under my captaincy in South Asian Beach Games, 2011 (Oct), Srilanka.
Youngest Captain of any Netball in the Commonwealth Games 2010.
Awarded as Sports Women of the Year 2010 by Jesus and Mary College and recognized as a Sports Achiever in Delhi University Achievers List.
